Rules & Confidentiality

  1. My personal choices and identity will never be revealed or used. I only become part of a group who answered the questions.
  2. I will answer truthfully on all sign-up questions.
  3. I can skip the ones I want, but I will be excluded from all polls, surveys and earnings when that group is polled.
  4. I will be excluded from all forum input regarding the questions I chose not to participate in.
  5. I can edit this information at any time.
  6. I realize that my answers to all forum issues will be graded for consistency with my questionnaire answers on this page.

You have total anonymity on every question. Your personal identity will never be revealed by localgovernmentnews.com. Instead, you become part of a group who gave various answers to each question for polling purposes. We give you a blind email address; you never have to use your own, and shouldn’t when discussing issues on localgovernmentnews.com.

You do not have to answer any questions, but these are the questions that pollsters use to find out how a voting group may vote and adjust their thinking to represent more of their constituents — which is what they are supposed to do. The more questions you answer honestly, the greater the chance that you will be polled and paid. You will also not be allowed to offer an opinion in any forum on that topic, so that you do not inadvertently give your position away. So, answering every question truthfully increases the chances of being polled. You will not know you have been polled until you check your private area. It also helps you influence a politician’s views. Too often noisy minority opinions get the attention of politicians more than the average voter. localgovernmentnews.com changes that.

Your Identity (duplicate- & payout-protection)

More than one account may be registered from the same email address (a household often shares one), but each account must be a different person. A second account for yourself — or nonsense responses that damage the integrity of the forums — ends all of your participation immediately: every post deleted and any money earned not paid. Your Social Security number is not collected at signup.

Section A: Demographics & Voter Baseline

This is one of the major metrics pollsters use to find out what various age groups think. It also tells us when a 16-year-old member can vote.

The Universal 7-Point Directional Crossover & Deal-Breaker Scale

You rate each issue by picking a number from 1 to 7. Read this once — every question below uses the same seven answers.

1 — Strongly Oppose (Total Disqualification): Firmly oppose this; a candidate supporting it is an absolute deal-breaker, and I will not vote for them under any circumstance.
2 — Strongly Oppose (Party-Loyal Defector): I oppose this and disagree with my usual party on it, but I will not cross party lines; I will skip the race or stay home.
3 — Strongly Oppose (Open to Crossover): I strongly oppose this; if my party’s candidate supports it, I am actively willing to cross party lines to vote for their opponent.
4 — Moderate / Flexible Stance: An issue of concern, but does not dictate my vote or override party loyalty.
5 — Strongly Support (Open to Crossover): I strongly support this; if my party’s candidate opposes it, I am actively willing to cross party lines to vote for their opponent.
6 — Strongly Support (Party-Loyal Defector): I support this and disagree with my usual party on it, but I will not cross party lines; I will skip the race or stay home.
7 — Strongly Support (Total Disqualification): Firmly support this; a candidate opposing it is an absolute deal-breaker, and I will not vote for them under any circumstance.
